Michael is the Vice President of Analytics at GIF, bringing a passion for innovative finance and the use of data and evidence for better decision-making. He joins GIF after having co-founded and built Instiglio, where he designed the first impact bond in a developing country and tied over $300 million to measurable results through results-based financing instruments. Prior to Instiglio, he worked for the World Bank, MIT’s Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), UNDP and the Government of Bhutan. In addition, Michael was a fellow at the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard and a Reiner Fellow at the Mulago Foundation. He holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard Kennedy School and a BA in Economics from Tufts University.
